High Voltage Overhead Line Conductors

AAC Conductor

AAC Conductor

(All Aluminum Conductor)

meets or exceeds the requirements of all international standards like ASTM, IEC, DIN, BS, AS, CSA, NFC, SS, etc. In addition, we also accept OEM services to meet your special request.

All aluminium conductor is a kind of aluminium product made through stranding aluminium wires. It is used for electricity distribution lines with short span lengths and small load-carrying capability of the pole. The AAC provides reliable performance for overhead power transmission and distribution lines. This standard covers hard-drawn circular aluminium wires for electric purposes to be used as component wires of hard-drawn aluminium stranded cables and aluminium conductor steel reinforced.

Construction:

Aluminium 1350-H19 wires, concentrically stranded.

Application :

AAC Conductor is a refined Aluminium stranded conductor with a min. metal purity of 99.7%. It is principally used in urban areas where spacing is short and the supports are close. It can be used in coastal regions owing to its high degree of corrosion resistance and is also used extensively within the Railway and Metro industries.

AAAC Conductor

(All Aluminum Alloy Conductor)

meets or exceeds the requirements of all international standards like ASTM, IEC, DIN, BS, AS, CSA, NFC, SS, etc. In addition, we also accept OEM service to meet your special request.

Construction:

Aluminium alloy 6201 wires, concentrically stranded.

Application:

AAAC conductors are used as a bare conductor cable on aerial circuits that require a larger mechanical resistance than the AAC  and a better corrosion resistance than the ACSR. The sag characteristics and the strength-to-weight ratio of the AAAC conductor cable is better than both AAC and ACSR.

AAAC Conductor
ACSR Conductor, Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced

ACSR Conductor

(Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced)

meets or exceeds the requirements of all international standards like ASTM, IEC, DIN, BS, AS, CSA, NFC, SS, etc. In addition, we also accept OEM service to meet your special request.

Construction:

ACSR is a concentrically stranded conductor with one or more layers of hard-drawn 1350-H19 aluminium wire on a galvanized steel wire core. The core can be single wire or stranded depending on the size. Steel core wire is available in Class A, B or Class C galvanization for corrosion protection. Additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the core or infusion of the completed conductor with grease.

Application:

ACSR is available in a range of steel contents ranging from 6% to 40% for additional strength. The higher strength ACSR conductors are commonly used for river crossings, overhead earth wires, and installations involving extra-long spans. The ACSR conductor can, against any given resistance, be manufactured to different tensile strengths, so a high tensile strength combined with its lightweight properties means it can cover longer distances with fewer supports. Due to the greater diameter of the ACSR conductor, a much higher corona limit can be obtained which is advantageous on high and extra high voltage overhead lines.

ACAR Conductor

 (Aluminium Conductor Alloy Reinforced)

meets or exceeds the requirements of all international standards like ASTM, IEC, DIN, BS, AS, CSA, NFC, SS, etc. In addition, we also accept OEM services to meet your special request.

Construction:

Aluminium Conductor Alloy Reinforced (ACAR)  is formed by concentrically stranded wires of Aluminium 1350 on high strength Aluminium -Magnesium -Silicon(AlMgSi) alloy core. The number of wires of Aluminum1350 & AlMgSi alloy depends on the cable design. Though the general design comprises a stranded core of AlMgSi alloy strand, in certain cable constructions, the wires of AlMgSi alloy strands can be distributed in layers throughout the Aluminium 1350 strands.

Application:

ACAR has better mechanical and electrical properties as compared to an equivalent ACSR, AAC or AAAC. A very good balance between the mechanical and electrical properties therefore makes ACAR the best choice where the ampacity, strength and light weight are the main considerations of the line design. These conductors are extensively used in overhead transmission and distribution lines.

ACAR Conductor
ACSS Conductor

ACSS Conductor

(Aluminum Conductor Steel Supported)

meets or exceeds the requirements of all international standards like ASTM, IEC, DIN, BS, AS, CSA, NFC, SS, etc. In addition, we also accept OEM services to meet your special request.

Construction:

Aluminum Conductor Steel Supported is a composite concentric-lay stranded conductor. Steel strands form the central core of the conductor with one or more layers of aluminium 1360-0 wire stranded around it. The steel core carries most or all of the mechanical load of the conductor due to the “0” (annealed or soft) temper aluminium. Steel core wires are protected from corrosion by a galvanized coating. High-strength steel core is also available.

Application:

ACSS is used for overhead distribution and transmission lines. It is designed to operate continuously at elevated temperatures up to 250˚ C without loss of strength; it sags less under emergency electrical loadings than ACSR; it is self-damping if pre-stretched during installation; and its final sags are not affected by long-term creep of aluminium. The advantages make ACSS especially useful in reconductoring applications requiring increased current with existing tensions and clearances, new line applications where structures can be economized because of reduced conductor sag, new line applications requiring high emergency loadings, and lines where aeolian vibration is a problem.
